I loved this book, devoured it. But I didn’t see any indication it was part of a series, so I went in expecting a complete story. Instead, like so many authors do now, I got half a story and a cliffhanger with no word about the story being completed. I guess the cliffhanger appeals to some readers, but to me, it’s lazy. I read a few books a week, so to assume I’ll still care about the sequel to this in a year or whenever it comes out is silly. So basically now I’m left feeling as though I’ve wasted my time, since I read half a story that I’ll very likely never complete. Editing to add: I downloaded the book on release day, and it neither said “Book 1 of 1” nor did it include the Author’s Note about it being a series, upon release. Those are both recent adds.
