We are introduced to six main characters, Lakynn and Henry, Bethany and Leo, Piper, and Shane. All are curious about the new neighbors that just moved in down the street and the tall concrete wall being constructed around it. Well, they get the chance to meet the odd new residents of their cul-de-sac when the unaddressed invitations arrive, inviting them to a dinner party. Right away, they realized something just isn't right with the new couple, Penn and Etta. When the lights go out, and the 6 friends find themselves trapped in the house with no way out but to solve cryptic puzzles and riddles, they find they no longer know who can be trusted among them, who is lying and keeping secrets, and who is behind all of this. When two of their group disappear, it becomes a race to find them and get out. But, is there time? Was their captor ever planning on letting them leave at all? Will the truth really set them free? This has all the lies, secrets, and twists and turns I've come to love from this author. She's the Queen for a reason and with every amazing book she earns a new jewel in her crown!
